The Riksteatern Congress in English

The Riksteatern Congress
Riksteatern – The Swedish National Touring Theatre is a non-profit organisation – an association of local theatre associations and other member organisations.

The Riksteatern Congress is its highest decision-making body. The Riksteatern Congress is held once every four years. Proxies from the various local Riksteater associations meet up at the Congress and together make decisions regarding the goals Riksteatern is to have and the direction it is to take. The Congress also elects a board of directors for the following four years. The board of directors manages Riksteatern’s activities between each Congress.

The Riksteatern board of directors collects together proposals for Congress into a proposition. Members and the local Riksteater associations may submit proposals to the Congress in the form of motions. These and the proposition will form the basis of the discussions held at the Congress and the decisions it makes.

8-10 May 2015: Riksteatern assembles for its Congress giving proxies from the local Riksteater associations the opportunity to decide on the direction to be taken by Riksteatern.

The Congress will be held in Göteborg at the Draken cinema located in Folkets Hus at Järntorget. It starts on Friday 8 May 2015 at 13.00 and ends at 17.00 on Sunday 10 May.
